April 2025 Poker Tournament Guide: Where to Play & Win Big

April is a blockbuster month leading up to the highly anticipated World Series of Poker (WSOP) in May. With massive prize pools up for grabs, it brings  a golden opportunity for players to compete in some of the biggest poker events worldwide and prepare themselves  for the WSOP ahead. Here are the top six must-play live poker events lined up in April 2025:

1 – Irish Poker Open 2025 (April 10 – 21)

The Irish Poker Open is the second-oldest poker tournament in the world, following the prestigious WSOP. Celebrating its 45th anniversary, the series will take place at the Royal Dublin Society from April 10 to 21, featuring a €4,500,000 total guarantee, including the €2.5 million GTD Irish Open Main Event.

In addition to the Main Event, the series will host high rollers and featured tournaments, such as the €250 Ladies Championship, the Heads-Up Championship, and the Hendon Mob Championship. Partnering with PokerStars and PaddyPower Poker, this event offers players worldwide a chance to participate in one of Europe’s richest poker series.

2 – WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship (April 4 – 8)

The WPT Showdown poker series at Seminole Hard Rock Poker Room has already awarded over $1.5 million in prize money. While the series started on March 19, the most exciting action takes place in April, featuring high rollers, deep stack events, and the WPT Showdown Championship.

The highlight is the $3,500 buy-in WPT Showdown Championship, boasting a $3 million GTD. Following the main event, there will be a $10,000 buy-in DeepStack NLH event ($1 million GTD) and a $25,000 buy-in High Roller event ($1 million GTD).

3 – WSOP International Pasino Grand Partouche (April 11 – 22)

For the first time, Aix-en-Provence, France, will host the WSOP International Circuit at Pasino Grand Partouche from April 11 to 22. The series’ Main Event will feature a €1,000,000 GTD, with online qualifiers available through Winamax for as little as €250.

The €1,000 Main Event is the crown jewel of the series. It begins on 17 April and runs until Monday 21 April with four starting days. The festival will also feature the €250 Ring Event N°2 Cup from 11 to 13 April, the €550 Ring Event N°3 Mystery Bounty (13 to 15 April), the €750 Ring Event N°6 Superstack (15 and 16 April), Ring Event N°7 High Roller €2,000 (16 to 18 April), Ring Event N°9 Deepstack €750 (20 and 21 April), Ring Event N°10 Omaha €550 (20 and 21 April), Ring Event N°11 Super High Roller €3,000 (21 and 22 April), Ring Event N°12 Bigstack €350 (22 April) and Ring Event No. 4 Colossus €200, which runs from 14 to 22 April with nine starting days. Ring Event No. 5 will be played on Winamax (€250 buy-in, €1 million gtd). 

4 – European Poker Tour Monte Carlo 2025 (April 30 – May 10)

The PokerStars EPT Monte Carlo 2025 will take place at Le Casino Monte Carlo from April 30 to May 10, beginning with the €1,100 PokerStars Open Main Event. While PokerStars has not announced official guarantees, seeing the stature of the series, it will surely payout over millions in total prize pool. 

The 2024 EPT Monte Carlo Main Event saw 1,208 entries and a €5,858,800 prize pool, with Derk Van Luijk taking home $1 million. This year’s Main Event runs from May 4 to May 10, and expectations are high for another record-breaking turnout.

5 – King’s Million PLO (April 1 – 7)

Among the many tournaments at King’s Resort Rozvadov, the King’s Million Pot-Limit Omaha stands out. Running from April 1 to 7, this PLO-heavy series boasts a €1,800,000 GTD prize pool.

The key events include the King’s Million PLO Mystery Opener (€500,000 GTD, April 1) and the King’s Million PLO Edition (€1,000,000 GTD, April 4).

6 – WSOP Circuit Illinois (April 3 – 14)

The WSOP Circuit event at Grand Victoria Casino, Illinois, will run from April 3 to 14, marking the first-ever WSOP event in Illinois. The $1,700 Main Event features a $750,000 GTD, while the entire series guarantees over $1 million in prize money.
