APPT Cambodia: Vietnam’s Ngo and India’s Godiyal Among Recent Winners

The Poker Stars 2024 Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Cambodia has been running full steam inside the luxurious NagaWorld Integrated Resort Phnom Penh. Featuring 42 tournaments, the series kicked off on 15th November and will continue through 25th November, 2024. The series has already crowned over 10 champions. 

 In this report, we will specifically recap Events 6 and 7. Trong Hieu Ngo, 2024 APPT Manila Champion, secured his second APPT title in Event 6, while Indian poker player Arun Kishore Godiyal recorded his first ever APPT title. Below is a recap of these two events:

Trong Hieu Ngo Wins 2024 APPT Cambodia Megastack High Roller

2024 APPT Manila Main Event Champion Trong Hieu Ngo shipped his second Asia Pacific Poker Tour title by winning the Event 6: Megastack High Roller at the 2024 PokerStars APPT Cambodia. With this win, he is now close to crossing the $500k mark.

The $2,500 buy-in Megastack High Roller drew a field of 8 players that ended up generating a total prize pool of $17,848. Due to the small field, only the top 3 players received a payout. Hieu Ngo defeated Philippines’ Mike Takayama in the heads-up, ending his run in second place for $5,354. Singapore’s Ceesvin Abraham Abdulla took third place, cashing $3,570.

Arun Kishore Godiyal Wins Event 7: Bubble Rush

India’s Arun Kishore Godiyal  scored his first-ever poker title at the 2024 Asia Pacific Poker Tour, claiming the PokerStars trophy and APPT title in Event 7: Bubble Rush. Godiyal has added  $2,433 to his young poker resume. Godiyal has been in sublime form,  cashing in an impressive three APPT events so far. All of the three were final table finishes, earning him over $7,083.

He first finished runner-up Event #3: $200 Turbo, bagging $1,872 and then took 3rd place in Event #4: $300 Superstack, banking a massive $4,172—the biggest Indian score at the ongoing series so far!

Coming back to Event No.7, the $250 buy-in NLH Bubble Rush event registered 40 entrants, generating a total prize pool of $8,536. At the end of the day, the top 6 of the final table shared the prize pool. Godiyal defeated Malaysia’s Sheng Meng Jeremy Wong in the heads-up. Wong ended up earning $2,432 for his second-place finish.
