After ending the year ranked #1 in live earnings, @Amadi_17 (Adrian Mateos) picks up the pen to reflect and share his thoughts on everything he experienced in 2024. Before getting into his journey, Mateos shared the success of his friends as well, who achieved greatness in the Poker World in 2024 – Alejandro Lococo who won the 2024 WSOP P Triton Million, Joao Vieria who scored a runner-up finish in the 2024 WSOP P Triton Main Event. And his fellow Winamax Team pro Mustapha Kanit, who made a podium finish in the historic 2024 WSOP P Super Main Event.

I celebrated each of these successes as if they were my own,” the Spanish Poker Pro Mateos said, “and I reiterate my joy.” The Spanish pro also revealed his thoughts on the 2nd Annual World Series of Poker Paradise, which was according to him “a great event.” Mateos sees no reason not to return to the luxurious Atlantis Bahamas next year for another edition.

On His Achievements

His most significant achievements of 2024 were making it into the Top 10 in the “All Time Money List,” and also crushing the $50 million to also lead Spain’s All-Time Money List. “I’m only 30 years old, and there are players around me who are much more experienced and have been at the top for much longer than me.” Adrian Mateos on achieving this significant success.

Throughout 2024, the seasoned pro achieved success in Las Vegas, Paris, Jeju, Monte Carlo, Montenegro, Cyprus, Bratislava, and the Bahamas competing in high-stakes poker games. “I can say that this has been MY BEST YEAR, in which I have come out as a winner both at the live cash tables and in the live tournaments and the online tournaments.” In 2024, he recorded three live poker victories, along with almost 20 final table finishes, earning more than $13 million throughout the year.

With his amazing performance, the player also led the Global Poker Index ranking throughout the year. However, by the end of 2024, he lost the Player of the Year award to David Coleman by just 71 POY points, behind Jesse Lonis.

“2024 has been a year in which I cannot find many faults, in which I have achieved titles that I have been pursuing for a long time, and in which I have achieved very important results. If I have to put a small “but”, I will say that the 5th bracelet is still elusive. It will have to be in 2025…

Mateos wrapped up his article by thanking all the people encouraging him through messages on social media. Mateos hopes 2025 will be at least as good as 2024.
