The 2024 European Poker Tour Monte Carlo festival wrapped up with several blockbuster tournaments concluding over the final weekend, including the €5,300 main event, which was won by Derk Van Luijk. The last few days also saw a trio of high-stakes tournaments crown their champions. Here is a quick recap.
Stephen Chidwick Wins 2024 EPT Monte Carlo €10,200 No-Limit Hold’em
The final €10,200 buy-in no-limit hold’em event of the series drew 95 entries and generated $995,220 in prize pool, the largest chunk of which ultimately went to the well-known pro Stephen Chidwick.
The 35-year-old British poker pro banked $263,347 after beating Steve O’Dwyer heads-up for the title. This was Chidwick’s fourth win of 2024 and now has more than $58.2 million in career tournament earnings, the third most of any player in the history of the game. O’Dwyer earned $169,922 for his efforts to bring his live earnings $42.3 million, which is good for 14th place on the all-time money list.
A total of 13 players were paid out in this event with Pavel Plesuv becoming the first player to finish in the money. The final table was reached after the elimination of Ihar Soika in tenth place ($24,428)

Spain’s Juan Pardo Wins 2024 EPT Monte Carlo €25,000 Single Day No-Limit Hold’em
The final high roller of the 2024 EPT Monte Carlo was a single-day €25,000 buy-in affair. The high roller tournament drew in 35 entries and resulted in a $907,578 prize pool. The top six finishers made the money with Spain’s Juan Pardo emerging as the champion to walk away with the lion’s share of the prize pool. He eventually defeated all-time money leader Justin Bonomo heads-up to secure the coveted title and the top prize of $311,77. Pardo now has $11.3 million in live tournament earnings.
Bonomo walked away with $203,336 as the runner-up finisher. The American now has more than $65.9 million in career cashes. Four-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos placed sixth for $63,226, his sixth final-table finish of the year and has now more than $2.1 million in POY earnings.
