Following their success at the recently-concluded Hanoi Series of Poker (HSOP) Championship where Shivam Skhukla shipped Event #11:Hyper Turbo for VND 18,700,000, Team India is now making headlines at the ongoing Vietnam International Poker Tour (VIPT) 2024. Currently in the spotlight is India’s Deepankur Gupta. He emerged victorious at the Vietnam Open tournament of the ongoing series, winning India its first trophy in the series. This marked the first live title of 2024 for the WPT Prime Cambodia Turbo champion, after his ninth place finish in Megastack (Event #6) at the recent HSOP Championship earlier this month.

VIPT Hanoi 204 Vietnam Open Recap
Featuring a buy-in of VND 8.8 Million and a guaranteed prize pool of VND 4.5 Billion, the highly anticipated Vietnam Open featured four starting flights and ran over the course of three days from March 22 to 24. The event drew a staggering 936 entries, with 117 players advancing to Day 2.
Gupta’s journey to victory in the tournament was marked by steady progress through fierce competition, ultimately securing the champion prize of VND 1.2 Billion. In the final showdown, he bested Vietnamese contender LSP Tien Sang, who banked VND 880,800 for his runner-up finish.
Team India at VIPT Hanoi 2024
After showcasing their skills at HSOP Championship, Indian players decided to extend their stay for the VIPT Hanoi 2024, where they continue to excel. Notable contenders from the Indian contingent vying for glory at the ongoing VIPT include veteran poker pro Jasven Saigal, Harsh Bubna, Himanshu Chhikara, Laksh Pal Singh, and Amit Kaushik. Underway from from April 19th and set to conclude on April 29th, 2024, the VIPT Hanoi 2024 series is running at the prestigious Bolton Poker Room under the auspices of Royal Poker Club, a revered name in the Asian poker scene. With a staggering VND 40 Billion guarantee, the Main Event boasts a tempting VND 10 Billion prize pool and serves as the key highlight of the series. Underway from April 25, the VND 20,000,000 buy-in tournament features four starting flights running between April 25 to 27. Day 2 takes place on April 28. The champion will be crowned on April 29, 2024.
