Who is Jason Koon?

Jason Koon is a professional poker player, well known as one of the richest poker players in the world. Born in August 1985, Koon graduated from Lewis County High School in 2003 and started playing poker when he was in university studying MBA in 2006. Initially, Jason didn’t even know the basics of poker. He first learned the Texas Hold’em poker from his roommate. After learning the game, he began his poker career by playing online poker under the name of ‘NovaSky’, and ‘JAKoon1985’.

As of February 2024, Jason Koon’s Net Worth is more than $55 Million due to his live earnings. Official figures might be different from it as he also participates in private poker matches. 

Jason Koon Live Earnings 

Jason Koon is a professional poker player, and his main income comes from playing poker. He makes enough money from Poker. He is at the number three spot in Hedon Mob’s “All Time Money list with total earnings of a little over $55 Million. 

In 2009, he won The Spring Championship of Online Poker, from which he earned over $300,000 in prize money. He also played his first World Series of Poker tournament in 2009, where he finished at number 17th and won $20,400 prize money.

In 2011, he beat 11,343 participants to win $458,550 in Full Tilt Online Poker. In 2013, he also finished runner-up in the $10,000 Bellagio Cup with winning $316,000 prize money. 

In 2015, he won $436,344 in the $50,000 Turbo High Roller. He also turned his $100 into $110,820 and finished at number three in SCOOP online poker tournament.

In 2018, Jason won his first Triton Tournament, and his highest prize money of $3,579,836. He later became a Triton series pro, winning the tournament for a record 10 times.

The year 2021 was the best year as he made his mark in poker. Jason won his first WSOP Bracelet in the $25,000 No Limit Hold’em – Heads Up Championship, and earned $243,981. In August of that year, Koon left partypoker and in October at the 2021 WSOP, Koon was announced as a GGPoker Global Ambassador. The high stakes pro recently left GGPoker and has signed a representation deal with Poker Royalty. 

In October 2022, Koon won several prestigious live titles, including Event #10: $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em of the 2022 Poker Masters.  His most recent victory came at the Triton Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo in November 2023 when he emerged victorious in the PLO Turbo (Event #13) and took home $365,000.  

The main reason behind Jason getting more money than others is that he participates a lot in high roller tournaments. The best example would be when no one risks $1.6 million to challenge Jason in High Stakes Duel III. The player won the High Stakes Duel III easily. That’s why Jason is known as the king of high-rollers. 

Jason Koon’s Other Source of Income 

There aren’t any other sources of income for Jason Koon that are available on the internet. He became the ambassador of Triton in 2019, and GGPoker ambassador in 2021. His partnership with GGPoker didn’t last long and he exited the company a few days back this year. His contract with Triton could be anywhere from 3 Million to 5 Million. He also plays a lot of private poker matches. In a recent podcast, he shared that he won over 1 Million Dollars in a private poker match.
