Amit Kaushik Talks About His Journey From Corporate Life To Poker Glory

India has produced so many talented poker players and one name that continues to shine is Amit Kaushik from Kurukshetra, Haryana. A post graduate in Applied Mathematics from IIT Roorkee, he picked up poker during college and started playing it online full time after a break from his corporate job in 2020. Following his success in online poker, he transitioned to live poker and there has been no looking back. He has been crushing it on both live and online felts, and has made a name for himself.

Amit Kaushik’s Live Poker Career Highlights

With over $720K in live tournament cashes and an impressive 6 titles to his name, including victories at the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT), APT, WPT, WPC, and USOP, Amit Kaushik has consistently proven his mettle across various prestigious events in Asia. He started his live journey with a bang, scoring two titles and a massive $72,340 for his third-place finish in the APT Main Event in 2022. He continued his momentum, racking up more than 40 live cashes in 2023, including three titles and a whopping $77,138 for his runner-up finish in the Asian Poker Festival Hanoi Main Event. His biggest live cash came just last year when he finished 5th for $118,906 in the WPT Cambodia Main Event (Event#25) in Phnom Penh.

Kaushik, who will be heading to Las Vegas in a few days to play his first-ever WSOP, has already racked up over a dozen of live cashes in 2025, including a runner-up finish for $30,760 in the WPT Cambodia Mystery Bounty and a sixth-place for $22,708  in the Vietnam Poker Tour (VPT) main event.

Amit Kaushik’s Online Poker Career Highlights

Talking about his online resume, Amit Kaushik has racked up over INR 9 Crores in earnings and has more than 200 titles under his belt. One of his most notable scores came in 2022 when he banked a massive INR 16.28 Lakhs for his stellar runner-up in the 1.5 Crore GTD IOPC Blaze. In 2025, Kaushik has already shipped multiple marquee online events, including Godfather, The Mint, Adda52 Millions, and Maverick. 

His strategic prowess and consistent results have made him a force in both online and live arenas, earning him respect and recognition within the Indian poker community and internationally. With multiple online wins and strong finishes on the live felts in 2025, he is set to add more feathers to his cap — continuing his evolution as one of India’s most complete poker pros.
