After a four-year hiatus, poker is making a grand return to one of the Strip’s most iconic properties. Planet Hollywood is set to relaunch its poker room this May, ushering in a new era of live poker action in a completely redesigned and elevated space that overlooks the casino’s vibrant Pleasure Pit.
Originally shuttered in 2021, the old poker room at Planet Hollywood is being reincarnated. This time bigger, more modern, and distinctly more stylish. The new venue is positioned above the main gaming floor and will feature a unique gothic theme, complete with 21 flat-screen TVs, a scenic balcony view, a full-service bar, and even an attached private bathroom for convenience.
What’s Inside the New Planet Hollywood Poker Room?
According to poker industry insiders, the upcoming poker room will boast:
- 23 tables in total, with 12 reserved for cash games
- Two adjacent rooms designated for tournament play and private high-stakes action
- Red ambient lighting and stone-inspired pillars, giving the space a gothic, cinematic vibe
- Wall art and posters from iconic Las Vegas-themed movies like ‘The Hangover’ and ‘Ocean’s Eleven’
- Balcony lounge for players to relax and observe the action below
- Potential for live-streamed cash games and private events
- A poker staff led by seasoned professionals Anthony Mink, Andy Rich, and Anthony Moody
The last WSOP-C event held here in 2019 saw Michael Trivett take down the Main Event for a $215,943 payday.
CMSOP Mixed Game Festival
To inaugurate the new space, Planet Hollywood will host the Chainsaw Mixed Series of Poker (CMSOP) from May 12–20, curated by poker pro Allen Kessler. This festival will cater to mixed-game lovers with events like:
- Omaha 8
- Stud 8
- H.O.R.S.E.
- Big O
- 2-7 Triple Draw
- The unique T.O.R.S.E. Championship, a $1,100 buy-in tournament making its WSOP debut this year
The full CMSOP schedule includes low- to mid-stakes buy-ins starting at $600, making it accessible yet competitive.
Daily tournaments will start at just $100, and the room will likely become a go-to destination for WSOP traffic looking for quick games or soft landings between bracelet events. Keep following PokerProNews for more updates from the poker industry.
