Mohit Bohra has etched his name into poker history by winning PokerBaazi‘s inaugural National Poker Champion finale in Goa, becoming India’s first National Poker Champion. The Gujarat-based player outshone an elite field of state champions, claiming the ₹1 Crore prize. Bohra’s total National Poker Series 2025 earnings now stand at an impressive ₹1.46 Crore, which includes ₹36.96 Lakhs from tournament cashes, ₹10 Lakhs in leaderboard bonuses, and his ₹1 Crore NPC victory.
As a special reward, players from Gujarat who participated in at least one event of NPS India 2025 are now eligible to join the ₹1 Crore NPC State Freeroll, scheduled for April 26 at 7 PM.

The journey to Bohra’s historic victory began months ago with the launch of NPS India 2025, featuring 191 tournaments across a variety of formats and styles. During the months leading up to the finale, 12 state champions emerged through a points-based match-play system. The final showdown at Goa’s Novotel Resort & Spa was streamed live on JioHotstar, where the poker community eagerly watched the drama unfold.

The grand finale of National Poker Champion showdown in Goa saw six of India’s best poker players battle it out for the NPC glory, each with a unique path to this stage. Here were the starting stacks for the final six players:

- Sreekanth Narayan (Kerala) – 210 points | 400 BB
- Bhanuprakash KC (Karnataka) – 180 points | 350 BB
- Vikhyat Ahlawat (Uttar Pradesh) – 170 points | 250 BB
- Wilson Yomso (Arunachal Pradesh) – 170 points | 250 BB
- Mohit Bohra (Gujarat) – 150 points | 250 BB
National Poker Champion Showdown Finale Recap:
- 6th – Wilson Yomso: Yomso started aggressively but was eliminated in 6th place after a brutal river card gave Bhanuprakash a set, ending his run.
- 5th – Vikhyat Ahlawat: Ahlawat’s tournament ended after he ran into Bhanuprakash’s pocket queens and couldn’t recover.
- 4th – Bhanuprakash KC: After losing a crucial pot to Bohra, Bhanuprakash was eliminated by Sreekanth Narayan’s pocket aces.
- 3rd – Ankit Wadhawan: Wadhawan, who had been the chip leader early in the day, lost his advantage and ultimately finished in 3rd place after Bohra’s relentless aggression.
- 2nd – Sreekanth Narayan: Narayan played an outstanding game throughout the series and earned the runner-up position after a hard-fought heads-up battle with Bohra.
Mohit Bohra’s Epic Run In Grand Finale
Bohra entered heads-up play with a dominant chip lead of more than 3:1 over Sreekanth Narayan. On the final hand, Bohra raised to 18,000 from the button with Pocket Eights (8♦8♣). Narayan, holding Ace-Queen (A♠Q♦) in the big blind, responded with a 3-bet to 54,000. Without hesitation, Bohra pushed all-in, and Narayan, left with no other option, called off his remaining stack.
The board ran out 6♠ 6♣ 9♣ 5♥ 10♥, giving Narayan no help. Bohra’s eights held steady, and with that, he claimed victory
As India’s first National Poker Champion, Bohra’s victory marks the beginning of a new era for poker in the country. His success will undoubtedly inspire future generations of players, and the poker community is now looking forward to even greater achievements on the national stage.
