Leo Margets has established herself as one of the most successful and influential female poker players in the world. With an impressive career spanning nearly two decades, she has not only amassed significant tournament winnings but also helped grow the game in Spain.

Leo Margets’ Early Life and Introduction to Poker 

There is very little information available regarding Margets’ early life, but she hails from Spain, Barcelona and is a player from the early poker boom in the country. Margets discovered poker in 2006 through her boyfriend, when it wasn’t that much popular. 

She began playing poker at a local poker club and soon began participating in live poker tournaments. She won the University Championship poker game in her hometown and instantly received an offer to promote poker for 888poker. Since then, Margets has been a professional poker player, participating both online and live events.

Leo Margets Poker Career Highlights 

Leo Margets first recorded live cash came in live tournaments in 2008. Her first live cash was of $2,271, which he earned for a final table finish in a local Spanish tournament. She followed it up with a 2nd place finish at the 2009 Spanish Poker Tour €330 NLH, pocketing $3,571. 

That year she hit a jackpot of a whopping $352,832, after running deep in the 40th WSOP $10k World Championship. She ended up in 27th place, earning her first six-figure live cash. However, she had to wait a little longer to collect her maiden poker title.

After a year, in 2010, Margets won the Spanish Poker Tour Grand Finale MVP Invite Only for an impressive $20,364 and her maiden live poker trophy. She concluded 2010 with another poker title to her name, winning the Full Tilt Master Series NLH for another six-figure sum of $132,237. 

Two years later, in 2012, Margets added the prestigious European Poker Tour to her trophy tally as she took down the EPT Monte Carlo Women’s Event, earning $19,606. 

Leo Margets continued running deep and finishing in the money, but her next big score came in 2017 when she rounded out the podium in PokerStars Festival Marbella Main Event for an impressive $80,244. The next year, the Spaniard came close to her first bracelet finishing 2nd in the 49th WSOP $1k Double Stack, banking $123,297. 

The very next year in November 2021, Margets won the 52nd WSOP Closer Event for her career-first gold bracelet and a career-best $376,850 payout. That victory was not only remarkable for Margets but also historical for the poker world as she became the first woman to win a bracelet in an open-entry event at the 2021 World Series of Poker. 

Margets have been regular since then and participate in poker tournaments all over the world. Her most recent significant cash came in January 2025 when she was eliminated in 5th place in the WSOP International Circuit Marrakech High Roller for a payday of $51,381. 

Leo Margets Net Worth

As of February 2025, Margets has a total live earnings of over $2 million, with the majority of the earnings coming from the World Series of Poker where she earned $1 million from 32 cashes. There aren’t any official reports on Margets’ net worth, but it is estimated to be in seven figures. 

In addition to playing poker, she has played an important role in promoting poker in Spain. She was an ambassador for several poker platforms, which tried to cater to Spanish players. Margets currently serves as a Winamax Team Pro.
