Women continue to crush the live poker felts with Janet Fitzgerald and Janette Dee becoming the latest winners in the live poker scene. Here is a quick recap of their victories!
Janet Fitzgerald Wins WSOPC Harrah’s Pompano Beach Ladies Event
Following the victory of Cindy Spier in the WSOPC Pompano Beach Event #4: $400 Seniors, it was Janet Fitzgerald who made the female poker community proud by winning Event #12: $300 Ladies Event. She overcame a competitive field of 95 entries in the $300 buy-in event to collect $6,190 from the total $22,800 prize pool, which was finally shared by the top 15.

With the latest victory, she is now a five-time WSOPC ring winner, with two of her rings coming from the same casino Harrah’s Pompano Beach. She became the fourth woman in WSOPC history to win five or more rings, joining the likes of Loni Hui, La Sengphet, and Pamela Belote.
Fitzgerald gained her momentum by eliminating Courtney Barr (5th-$1,337). The latter found herself at risk from the big blind holding ten-seven up against Fitzgerald’s queen-jack. A queen-high board sealed it for Fitzgerald who narrowed the gap between herself and Cai into a 4-handed play. The final battle took place between Jessica Cai and Fitzgerald where the former held the chip lead over Fitzgerald.
However, with two key double ups, Fitzgerald took the chip lead. First, she moved in with jack-nine up against Cai’s ace-ten to flop jacks up and double up. In another hand, they put their stacks in the middle with Fitzgerald holding pocket nines against Cai’s ace-seven. Pocket nines held up, moving Fitzgerald into the chip lead. Finally, it all ended with Fitzgerald moving in with ace-eight and Cai calling with pocket jacks. The board ran out ace-high and Cai ended up finishing in second place for $3,949.
