The 2025 Mid-Atlantic Poker Open at Maryland Live! Casino and Hotel has wrapped up successfully, crowning its main event champion in Frankie Zeta, a five-time WSOPC ring winner who previously notched up four victories at the venue, topped a field of 367 entries, claiming career-best score of $145,706 and the coveted main event trophy. The latest victory marked his 8th live poker title and took his live earnings to over $400k.

The 2025 Mid-Atlantic Poker Open (MAPO) Main Event at Maryland Live! Casino and Hotel was a resounding success. The $2,200 buy-in event drew an impressive 367 entries over two starting flights and generated a hefty $718,586 in prize pool, which was finally shared by the top finishers with min-cashes starting at $3,990. Of the 367, only 47 players advanced to Day 2 with the eventual champion Zeta starting the day second in chips to Maclaren Chatham, who ultimately finished in 9th place for $14,570.
Of the 47 players who returned for Day 2 play, only six players advanced to the final and third day of the event. Zeta started the day second in chips to Brandon Hall, who ultimately fell in third place for $71,275.
Zeta got off to a good start as he won two key hands. Notably, he won both hands with ace-jack against Austin Remmel to gain a significant chip lead at the final table on Day 3. Remmel exited in fifth for $39,870.
From there on, Zeta dominated the four-handed play, riding it all the way to the heads-up that lasted only 10 hands. The final hand of the duel saw Zeta seal the victory with king-queen against the pocket eights of Semsettin Ilyas, who banked $97,125 for his efforts.
