Just a day after securing his first career PokerGo Title in Event #3: $10,100, Brandon Wilson captured his second career PGT title in Event #4: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em at the PGT Last Chance. Wilson defeated the 2024 PGT points leader, Jeremy Ausmus, in heads-up play for his latest victory, earning an impressive $285,000. This win brought his live poker earnings to $3.8 million.

The $10,100 buy-in NLH event drew a field of 114 entrants, creating a total prize pool of $1,140,000, with the final 17 players splitting the prize pool. Wilson entered the event during late registration and eventually led the final table, holding 40% of the chips in play.

PGT Event #4: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em Final Table Recap

Final table short stack Stoyan Madanzhiev was the first player to be eliminated. He needed a double-up to stay alive and open-shoved from under the gun with pocket fives, only to be called by Sam Laskowitz, holding ace-six suited. The board favored Laskowitz, giving him a flush and sending Madanzhiev out in 7th place for $45,600.

Despite eliminating Madanzhiev, Laskowitz was the next to hit the rail. His pocket jacks ran into Byron Kaverman’s pocket aces. Laskowitz earned $57,000 for his 6th-place finish. Kristina Holst managed to secure a pay jump after leaving herself with one chip during a clash between Laskowitz and Kaverman. However, she followed them to the rail in 5th place after Kaverman’s king-seven prevailed against her ace-ten. Holst took home $74,100 for her efforts.

Dylan Linde was eliminated shortly after, finishing in 4th place and collecting $96,900. Kaverman’s strong play ultimately came to an end when his ace-nine couldn’t hold up against Wilson’s pocket fives. Kaverman earned $125,400 for his 3rd-place finish.

Wilson Hero Called For The Victory

Wilson and Ausmus began heads-up play with even chip stacks, but it didn’t take long for Wilson to secure the victory. A few hands into the duel, the players clashed in a massive pot. On one key hand, Ausmus defended his big blind with queen-five offsuit against Wilson’s pocket tens. Wilson’s tens held up, and after making a hero call on the river, he took a commanding chip lead.

With a fifteen-to-one advantage over Ausmus, Wilson ended the match just two hands later. Ausmus shoved his remaining chips with six-three suited, and Wilson called with five-three suited. The board ran out Ad-2h-4h-8s-7c, giving Wilson a straight and his second consecutive PGT title. Jeremy Ausmus earned $176,700 as the runner-up.
