Argentina’s Alejandro Lococo has created history by becoming the first-ever player to win both the Triton Trophy and the WSOP bracelet. A well-known rapper and poker player, Lococo overcame a star-studded field to win the first-ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise Triton Million invitational event, claiming his maiden bracelet and $12,070,000 – his career-best score and the largest score of 2024 in any live tournament.

The latest victory serves as the biggest milestone in Lococo’s career as it not only takes his live earnings to nearly $14.9 million but also surges him into second place on the Argentinian all-time money list, only behind Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero who has $21.2 million in live tournament earnings.

“It feels amazing for sure. I have to make a special mention of my mother and father, who are here,” said Alejandro Lococo in his interview on Triton Poker’s broadcast. “Thanks to everybody who is supporting me.”

“This was my first $500k… this was my first $100k-plus in my entire life. It’s amazing, it’s like I’m dreaming,” added Lococo.

2024 WSOP Paradise Triton Million Quick Recap

Event #2: $1,000,000 Triton Million of the World Series of Poker Paradise was a unique collaboration between WSOP and Triton Poker. The event running over three days drew an impressive 96 entrants, resulting in a whopping $48 million prize pool, which was eventually shared by the top 17 players with a min cash of at least $755,000.

The money bubble burst on Day 2 with Hustler Casino Live owner Ryan Feldman becoming the unfortunate bubble boy after his 7c 10c not getting there against the king-queen of the eventual champ Lococo. Eliminations continued with WSOP bracelet winner Mikita Badziakouski (17th for $755,000), Punnat Punsri ( 16th for $755,000), and Phillip Nagy (15th for $792,000) falling in quick succession and bringing the day’s play to an end.

The remaining 14 players returned for the third and final day of the event, guaranteeing themselves at least $792,000. On the way down to the final table, we saw several big names hitting the rail. WSOP bracelet winner Stephen Chidwick (14th for $792,000) became the first casualty of the day. Hedge fund founder David Einhorn followed him in 13th place for $865,000. He was soon followed by Esti Wang (12th for $865,000) and four-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos (11th for $985,000).

A cooler then ended Chance Kornuth’s run. He flopped a nine-high straight with 7-6 suited, but could not survive as the two-time bracelet winner Daniel Dvoress hit a full house. The four-time bracelet exited in 10th place, taking home an impressive $985,000 for his remarkable run.

2024 WSOP Paradise Triton Million Final Table Action

In the first major clash at the final table between bracelet winner Ben Heath and two-time bracelet winner Michael Moncek Heath’s pocket jacks stood out against the ace-seven of Moncek and ended the latter’s run in 9th place ($1,200,000). He was soon followed by Sosia Jiang, the last lady in the mix, who ran her king-queen into the ace-king of Daniel Dvoress to exit in 8th place for a career-best $1,605,000.

Dvoress then sent two-time bracelet winner Aleksejs Ponakovs packing in 7th place ($2,140,000) and continued to dominate by eliminating Alex Foxen in 6th place ($2,795,000). Foxen held pocket sevens against the ace-eight of Dvoress, who flopped an ace and held from there to bust his opponent. The next elimination was scored by the eventual champion  Lococo, who hit a ten-high straight to crush the king-jack of Elias Talvitie. The latter earned a career-high $3,542,000 for his 5th-place finish.

Alejandro Lococo scored another elimination by busting the dangerous Dvoress, who shoved his 2h 2s and failed to get there against the pocket jacks of Lococo, exiting in 4th place ($4,390,000). Continuing his domination, Lococo then busted Turkey’s Sinan Unlu, who pitted his jack-five against the king-six and failed to hit the board to exit in 3rd place ($5,304,000).

The heads-up saw Lococo holding 84,000,000 to Heath’s 12,000,000. While the UK pro was able to chip up but couldn’t go all the way, ultimately finishing runner-up for a career-best $8,160,000. In the final hand, Lococo shoved with Kd 2h and Heath called with Ad Kc. The board ran out Qh 8d 2d 7s 8h, crowning Lococo as the ultimate champion of the tournament.
