Tauan Naves Wins 2024 MSPT Venetian Main Event

Tauan Naves emerged as the champion of the Mid-States Poker Tour main event at the Venetian Poker Room on December , claiming $60,675 and his maiden MSPT title. This was Naves’s first poker win in the United States, besides his PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and the BSOP poker tournament win. The Brazilian pro came close to securing his first bracelet at the 2024 WSOP, finishing 3rd for a career-high payday of $478,247 in Event #76: $10k NLH Mystery Bounty.

The $1,100 buy-in MSPT Main Event attracted 317 across three flights, creating a total prize pool of $305,905. As the field dwindled, 36 players made it to the money for a mini-cash worth $2,325. Naves entered the final table with the third-lowest stack, however, continued scooping big and small pots to climb the ladder.

Naves kicked off the three-handed action, knocking out two-time bracelet winner Barry Shulman in 4th place, and followed this by eliminating Roman Bremond in 3rd place. Despite the eliminations, his opponent Yang Li held a two-to-one chip lead over Naves. After over two hours of back and forth and battle, the final hand of the tournament saw Li shoving all in with queen-four of clubs on a board of Qh-8s-4h-Ac-9h. Naves snap called revealing his eights-six of hearts for a flush. Li received $43,980 for his runner-up finish, while Naves won the title.

Andras Nemeth Takes Down 2024 EPT Prague Mystery Bounty Event

The Poker Stars 2024 EPT Prague €10,200 buy-in Mystery Bounty drew 42 entries, creating a total prize pool of €406,980 (including bounties). Out of the 42 players, six players ended up sharing the prize pool. The Hungarian pro kicked off Day 2 as the chip leader and always stayed at the top of the chip stack.

The 2024 WSOP Main Event final tablist, Niklas Astedt finished in the money, earning €13,800 plus €40,000 in bounties for his 6th place finish. Nemeth entered the three-handed action as the chip leader and knocked out Nikita Kuznetsov in 3rd place. He entered the heads-up with an even stack against Michail Manolakis but soon lost most of his stack to Manolakis.

Manolakis’s lead didn’t last long, as Nemeth caught the costly bluff of Manolakis to get back his chip stack. The final hand of the tournament saw Manolakis get all in holding queen-jack, and Nemeth tank called holding ace-three. The flop was in favor of Manolakis, as he spiked his jack. However, the turn brought Ace and gave Nemeth a better pair to lock up his fifth trophy.

Manolakis collected €44,300 for his runner-up finish and the second biggest bounty prize of €45,000.
