In a remarkable display of dominance, high-stakes poker professional Jared Bleznick clean-swept PokerGO’s High Stakes Duel 5 with a 3-0 victory against Poker Hall of Famer Patrik Antonius. Bleznick defeated the poker hall of famer in three straight rounds of the Duel 5, securing the coveted High Stakes Duel Championship belt and $400,000 for his victory in third round.
The showdown, with a $200,000 buy-in, lasted over five hours and demonstrated Bleznick’s exceptional skills in both pot-limit omaha and no-limit hold’em. The win adds another milestone to his impressive resume, which includes a World Series of Poker bracelet and a Super High Roller Bowl PLO ring. With the victory, Bleznick now joins the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Jason Koon, and Daniel Negreanu as champions of PokerGO’s signature heads-up competition.
Jared Bleznick Vs Patrik Antonius High Stakes Poker Duel Round 3
The mixed game round kicked off with $300/$600 blinds with PLO. Unlike the other two heads-up, Antonius managed to take a quick lead after the first hour of play. But Bleznick turned the game in the second hour by scooping a big pot for an 11:9 chip advantage over Antonius.
The players then changed and exchanged small and big pots, and Antonius closed the chip gap. On a specific hand, Antonius open raised $4,000 holding As-6s, and Bleznick called with Qs-8c. The flop ran Kc-10s-9s and Bleznick fired $3,000, and Antonius called to see the Ac on the turn, giving him the top pair and a nut flush draw. Bleznick checked and Antonius put $10,000 into the middle. Bleznick responded to it with a $28,000 check raised and Antonius called.
The river rolled out 5s, completing the nut flush for Antonius. Bleznick bet a sizable $58,000 into the already $70k pot. Antonius then moved all in for $125k, and Bleznick folded his hand. This gave Antonius a 5:3 chip advantage.
However, Bleznick soon turned the tides with back-to-back flushes in PLO. Antonius tried for a comeback, but a costly bluff left him with just 25 big blinds, heading into the final hour of play.
The Final Hand
The decisive hand came after hours of back-and-forth play. With nearly even stacks, Antonius open-shoved for $123,000 holding Kc-4c. Bleznick called with Ah-5s. Antonius graciously shook hands with Bleznick before seeing the board.
The flop came 7d-4d-2s, giving Antonius a pair of fours but opening a straight draw for Bleznick. The turn brought the 3s, completing Bleznick’s straight and securing his victory.
Bleznick’s clean sweep places him in elite company, becoming only the second player in High Stakes Duel history to achieve a 3-0 victory, following 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth.
For Antonius, the loss marks a tough conclusion to his High Stakes Duel 5 run, but he will cope with this with his $12.1 million live poker earnings, which he scored in 2024.
