Recently, we saw the conclusion of the PokerStars 2024 Asia Pacific Poker Tour Cambodia, PokerStars BSOP Millions Championship, and the RunGood Poker Series Jamul Main Event. Here is a quick recap of these events along with final table payouts.
Christopher Mateo Crown as the 2024 APPT Cambodia Main Event Champion
Christopher Mateo finally Won the 2024 APPT Cambodia Main Event for a six-figure payday of $126,500 and the PokerStars trophy. Back in 2023, Mateo ran deep in the 2023 APPT Main Event and came close to winning the Main Event title, but couldn’t get past the runner-up place, shipping a career-high payday of $180,524. With his recent victory, he has now crossed the $1 million mark in live earnings.
The 2024 APT Cambodia Main Event had a buy-in of $1,650, which registered 518 entrants across three starting flights from Nov 21 to 25, crushing the $500k guarantee, and creating a total prize pool of $746,153. 71 players made it to the money, as they advanced to Day 2, where the final table was formed.
Christopher Mateo led the final 9 and held his momentum throughout the final table. South Korea’s Donghyup Kim entered the final table as the short stack but steadily built up his tack to reach the heads-up against Mateo. Kim knocked out Hieu Ngo in the three-handed play with his pocket aces, sending Ngo out in 3rd place.
In the heads-up, Mateo held 120 BBs against the 75 BBs of Kim. Both players reached an ICM deal, splitting the remaining payout and confirming a six-figure payday for both. As the duel kicked off, Mateo steadily took away the chips from Kim, extending his lead to lock up the victory. On the final hand, Kim jammed holding Qh-Jd and Mateo called with Qc-9h. The board ran 2d-3h-9c-3s-7s, giving Mateo the top two pairs to win the title. Donghyup Kim took home $113,000 for his runner-up finish.

Marcos Kenne Wins 2024 BSOP Millions Championship
After a week-long grind in the 2024 BSOP Millions Championship, Marcos Kenne emerged victorious, taking the trophy and a career-best payday of $369,514.
The R$25,000 BSOP Millions Championship drew 503 players across three starting flights, building up a total prize pool of R$11,081,150, which was finally paid out to the top 71 players. A total of 174 players advanced to Day 2, and they battled it out for four days for the title. As the dust settled, Marcos Kenne clinched the title and the top prize of R$2,140,000 (~$369,514).
Kenne defeated his fellow Brazilian countryman Paulo Goncalves in a grueling heads-up that lasted for almost two hours. Kenne held a massive chip lead, and Goncalves tried to overcome it but failed. The final hand eventually came, where Kenne shoved with 8c-7c and Goncalves called with Ac-4c. Goncalves’s hand surely was a better pre-flop hand, but Kenne spiked his 8 on the flop and held from there to seal the victory. Goncalves ended up earning R$1,346,500 (~$232,500).
