Of late, both live and online felts have been buzzing with high-octane action and last week was no exception. While several Indian players made their mark at the APT Manila and the ongoing APT Phu Quoc 2024, we saw some impressive performances on the virtual felts back home, particularly on Natural8 India and PokerBaazi, both keeping the high-stakes action alive with massive GTD tournaments.

Tarun Goyal continues his dominant run and seems to be unstoppable. He has been in terrific form and last week was no exception. He once again stole the show, delivering some amazing performances to emerge as the biggest winner of the week.

Tarun Goal Wins A Staggering INR 21.11 Lakhs On Nutural8 India This Sunday

The WSOP bracelet winner from Bathindia (Punjab) had a remarkable week, cashing several tournaments. The former IT professional and Adda52 Team Pro ended the week on a high note, topping the Sunday charts with over INR 21.11 Lakhs on the back of his two deep runs. His biggest online score on Sunday came in Natural8 India’s Sunday HR Main Event 1500 where he finished seventh, banking a hefty INR 19.63 Lakhs to top the Sunday charts and secure his tenth seven-figure score on the platform. 

Goyal also ran deep in Natural8 India’s Bounty Hunters HR Main Event 525 event, finishing109th for INR 1.47 Lakhs. With this score, he took annual winnings to a jaw-dropping INR 7.22 Crores, with INR 6.58 Crores coming from his cashes on Natural India alone (as per the data from PokerGuru)

Vaibhav Temani Wins INR 16.45 Lakhs in Bounty Hunters Daily Main 54

Another big story of the week was Vaibhav Temani dominating performance on Thursday night.  After his impressive debut in Natural India’s Bounty Warm Up 88 last Tuesday and a Sunday Bounty Forty Stack 44 win over the weekend, Temani topped the Thursday charts, racking in a hefty INR 16.66 Lakhs in winnings on the back of his three deep runs. Notably, he grabbed his second big score on Natural8 India, placing runner-up in the Bounty Hunters Daily Main 54 for a massive INR 16.45 Lakhs. This score, combined with additional deep runs in PokerBaazi’s The Pride and WTF, made him the biggest Thursday winner.

With over INR 44 Lakhs on Natural8 India alone in just over a week (according to PokerGuru’s database), Temani is one of the shining stars of Indian poker and is a definitely player to watch out for ahead!

‘DollarBill’ Wins INR 9.44 Lakhs in PokerBaazi’s Sunday’s BSS SuperStack 

Another player who caught the attention of the community was the mystery player “DollarBill”, who topped a field of 1258 entries in PokerBaazi’s 50 Lakh GTD BBS SuperStack on Sunday night, claiming his first-ever title on the platform and a career-high 9.44 Lakhs in top prize money. Bharath Kumar, who had won last month’s The Quest, came close to winning it but had to eventually settle for the runner-up payout worth INR 5.73 Lakhs.

The final table of the BSS SuperStack featured some solid regs like Karan ‘bozo’ Kapur (4th for INR 3.27 Lakhs), Friday’s WTF winner Sanket ‘aslipapaji’ Jain (5th for INR 2.58 Lakhs), rising star Ritwik ‘Ritwikkhanna’ Khanna (6th for INR 2.01 Lakhs), and Varunn ‘Varunn’ Gaala who finished in 8th place for INR 1.14 Lakhs.
