If one wants to know who are the current top players in the global poker circuit, Global Poker Index (GPI) rankings are the place to go. The rankings offer a dynamic view of the top poker players around the world. The best part is that the rankings are updated regularly. Thus the GPI places players based on their recent performance in live tournaments.

Thus, in a way, it ranks the consistency and success at high-stakes events. Players rise up the ranks through deep runs in prestigious competitions as well as strong finishes in high-profile tournaments. The continually shifting ranks reflect the ever-changing landscape of competitive poker, thus putting the spotlight on both established pros and rising stars.

USA’s Jesse Lonis continues to dominate from the numero uno spot. Meanwhile, other significant rises in the rankings include players like Stephen Song, who has made an entry into the Top 10 following his big win at the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona.
