One such player is Japan’s female pro Sachiko Uchihara, who is a rising star in the poker world,  Sachiko Uchihara continues to make a name for herself with a combination of skill, strategy, and consistency at the poker felts. Her peers know her for her calm demeanour and sharp decision-making skills.  She has gradually gained attention for impressive runs in both live and online tournaments.

The Japanese pro grabbed headlines earlier this year after claiming her career’s fist live title. She started off the year on a great note by taking down Event #4: Women’s Event at the APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 held in September. For her top-place finish, Uchihara outshined an impressive 129 entries field. She walked away with FWD 49,744 (~USD 1,574) in prize money and a shiny new prestigious APT trophy.

Sachiko Uchihara started her live poker journey in 2022, and since then she has accumulated $37,460 in total live poker earnings. Her best live cash to date has been $9,740, which she pocketed after taking down the Asia Series Poker Tour KRW 1,500,000 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event held in Incheon, South Korea in 2023.

Sachiko Uchihara ranks 68,160th on the global All Time Money List, according to Hendon Mob. Similarly, she ranks 449th on Japan’s All Time Money List.

Most recently, Sachiko Uchihara  was seen grinding at the Asian Poker Tour – APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024, held in Taipei City. Here she finished at the second runner-up spot at NT$ 10,000 Dealer’s Choice (Event #90). Here she banked NT$ 90,000 ($ 2,799) for 48.14 GPI points.

Prior to this, the Japanese pro won her first ever poker title at Asian Poker Tour – APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024, Taipei City, wherein she headlined the NT$ 2,000 No Limit Hold’em – Women’s Event (Event #4). For her victory, she walked away with a paycheque of NT$ 49,740 ($ 1,565). 

With a series of strong, consistent and noteworthy performances, this pro has immense potential and has positioned herself as a player to watch in the future. Similarly, players like Sachiko Uchihara while gaining their due recognition promise to keep the poker landscape dynamic and exciting in the years to come.
