Day 4 of the $10K Main Event unfolding on Day 44 of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas concluded with only 464 players remaining out of the 1529 returning players in contention for the stunning bracelet and the $10,000,000 top prize money. At the end of the day, the WSOP bracelet winner and 2022 GPI Player of the Year Stephen Song was in front with a massive stack of 4,740,000. Other players who ended the day among the top stacks were Nazar Buhaiov (3,875,000), Biao Ding (4,265,000) and four-time bracelet winner Adrian Mateos (4,500,000).
Poker G.O.A.T. Phil Ivey, who already won his 11th bracelet this summer, bagged 650,000 for Day 5. Rising star Jesse Lonis, who finished 25th in this event in 2021, is set for another deep run. He bagged an impressive 2,520,000 to advance to Day 5.
Other notable players who bagged on Day 4 include the likes of Ren Lin (1,920,000), Josh Reichard (2,540,000), high-stakes poker pro and commentator Tony Dunst (1,335,000), Kristen Foxen (1,320,000), poker commentators Maria Ho (340,000), reigning POY Bin Weng (655,000) & Alex Livingston (1,995,000), who finished third in this event in 2019 for $4 million.
India’s Kavin Shah and Tarun Goyal Advance with Respectable Stacks
Team India made a significant mark on Day 4 of the Main Event, with two of the four returning players advancing to Day 5. Kavin Shah bagged an impressive stack of 2,230,000 chips, placing him among the top 70 stacks. Former Adda52 Team Pro and DPT champion Tarun Goyal secured a stack of 1,150,000 chips. Both players will be aiming to go as deep as possible when they return for Day 5 on July 11.
A total of 4 Indians returned for Day 4, including Siddarth Singhvi and WSOP 2024 $250K Super High Roller champion Santhosh Suvarna. Singhvi fell in 1388th place, earning $15,000, his second WSOP 2024 cash. Suvarna was eliminated in the evening along with other notables two-time bracelet winner Keith Lehr, Barstool Sports’ Eric Nathan, poker media member Terrance Reid and Jared Jaffee.
Suvarna’final hand saw him run his ace-ten into the ace-jack of Joe Hamilton. The board ran out Kc 9s 5c 4c 4d where the kicker played for Hamilton, ending Suvarna’s main event journey.
Other notables who could not make the cut for Day 5, included Ladies Event champion Shiina Okamoto and Poker Hall of Famers Daniel Negreanu and Erik Seidel all earning $15,000 payout. The last two Main Event champions, Espen Jorstad and Daniel Weinman also among those min-cashed in this event.
Play for Day 5 begins with Level 21 featuring blinds of 10,000/25,000/25,000. The day will feature another five levels with 20-minute breaks after every level and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 23.

Two Players Become Champions On Day 44 of WSOP 2024
Aside from the Main Event, two players became WSOP champions on Day 44 of the WSOP 2024. The first bracelet of the day went to Carsten Heidemann who overcame a massive field of 6,628 entries in Event #84: $600 Ultra Stack No-Limit Hold’em, claiming his first WSOP bracelet and a career-best $343,010. This marked the first WSOP cash for the German pro who has been playing poker for over 15 years. From Team India, Yudhishter Jaswal (57th – $6,260) headlined the Indian scorecard.
The second bracelet of the day belonged to Matthew Alsante, who topped 1,041 entries in Event #87: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold’em to win the gold bracelet and a hefty sum of $785,486. Several Indians cashed this event, with WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer finishing deepest among them with a 26th place finish for $26,212.
