The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2024 continues with epic victories and thrilling showdowns. USA’s Jared Kingery has emerged as the latest bracelet winner of the ongoing series. He overcame a massive field of 1,561 entries and defeated Spain’s Javier Gomez heads-up, winning Event #44: $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em and claiming $410,359 and his career-first gold bracelet. Gomez banked a hefty $273,581 for his runner-up finish.

The event, which ran for the third year in a row at the WSOP, drew 1,561 runners over the course of three days and generated a prize pool of $2,778,580, which was finally shared by the top 235 players.

The third and final day saw 17 players all vying for the coveted gold bracelet and a jaw-dropping $410,359 top prize. The action was fast and furious as Barry Shulman (17th), Michael Berk (16th), Dillon Najor (15th), and Edgard Saliba (14th) all exited in the first level for a payout of $18,095.

The final table was reached when Huihan Wu fell to Juan Carlos Vecino, leaving ten survivors. Gomez entered the final day as the chip leader and maintained his momentum throughout, eliminating several players on his way to victory. After Vecino sent Nicholas Massey out in tenth place, Gomez knocked out Jon Glendinning in ninth with pocket fours against Glendinning’s suited ace-eight.

India’s Kavin Shah then went on a good run, busting Narcis Nedelcu in eighth place. However, Shah’s streak ended when he fell to Gomez. Shah went all-in over a Gomez open, holding Ad 7d against Gomez’s Ac Ks. The board didn’t help Shah, and he exited in seventh place ($60,317). Shah, one of the shortest stacks entering the final table, achieved his best live score and first WSOP 2024 cash with this impressive finish.

Another Indian player, Yasheel Doddanavar, also made it to the final table. Starting the final table with the second-largest stack, Doddanavar unfortunately exited in 6th place for a career-high $60,317 after his jack-ten suited lost to Yunkyu Song’s pocket kings. This marked his first WSOP 2024 score.

Next to fall was Zarco, whose Ac Jd lost to Vecino’s pocket queens, earning him $106,537 for fifth place. Kingery then went on a remarkable run, doubling up with aces against Song’s ace-queen and flopping the nut straight against Gomez to seize the chip lead. He extended his lead further by knocking out Vecino in fourth place ($144,176) with pocket tens against Vecino’s king-queen suited.

Song staged a comeback but ultimately fell in third place ($197,443) when his pocket jacks were beaten by Kingery’s ace-king on a board that paired both the ace and king.

The heads-up between Gomez and Kingery was brief. Gomez shoved with ace-jack, but Kingery’s ace-queen held on a 10h 8d 6h As 4s runout, securing Kingery the coveted title and his maiden bracelet.
