The tournament paid out the top 27 finishers, with Seyed Hosseini ($4,500) becoming the first player to finish in the money. From that point on, eliminations were quick and we saw several notable eliminations, including Dustin Melanson who recently won the series’ $1,700 Main Event for $339,770.

The final table was reached following the elimination of Suren Chelian in eleventh for $12k. Nine out of the ten players on the final table were from Canada. The only player from the United States was Timothy Ulmer whose run ended in fourth place after he ran his ace-queen into Adil Morkos’ aces. Timothy Ulmer and Adil Morkos began the final table as the chip leaders, each holding 118 bigs. Players were deep-stacked and it took two hours for the first elimination to occur. Jaime Staples was first to fall and he was followed by Kyle Yun-Wing Ho, Wenping Chen, Liu, and start of day chip leader Stephane Blouin-Verroeulst in ninth, eighth, seventh and sixth place respectively.

The next player to fall was Anoop Jugurnath who was followed by Timothy Ulmer in fourth place. Billard was one of the smaller stacks throughout the day but gained the momentum during three handed-play by busting Adil Morkos who began three-handed play with over half the total chips. The heads-up saw Rivest starting with a modest lead over Billard. However, the momentum shifted after Billard doubled up twice. Finally, it was all over with Rivest running his Kd 3h into the As Qc of Billard who rivered a full house to win the top prize of $112,500 and his first WSOP circuit ring.
