There is little information about Rex Cheong‘s early life, but he has been part of the poker industry for over a decade. His journey began in 2007 as a dealer, and by 2011, he had risen to the role of operations manager at PokerStars. His dedication and expertise quickly propelled him up the ranks, leading him to becoming the Senior Manager of Live Poker Operations in Asia.

In this role, Cheong played a key part in overseeing several PokerStars Asian poker series, most notably the Macau Poker Cup. The Macau Poker Cup was a staple of the Asian poker circuit, with 28 editions held at the PokerStars LIVE Room in Macau. However, the tournament ceased operations in Macau in 2018 due to legal issues.
