PokerGO’s High Stakes Duel returned on Tuesday with sports card shop owner Jared Bleznick beating Finland’s poker legend Patrick Antonius in the thrilling High Stakes Poker Duel Opener for $100K in a four-hour battle.

All the heads-ups have been played in No-Limit Hold’em (NLH) format. Now, the organisers have come up with a new feature that will let viewers enjoy both Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) and NLH formats in the Poker gameplay.  The game was played on PokerGO which cost $50,000 per player to enter. Each received $50,000 chips and the blinds started at $100/$200. The newest edition of the game featuring PLO alternates every 10 hands and each player has the option to run it twice on an all-in bet once per round.

The High Stakes Poker duel is a heads-up competition which began in 2020 and so far 12 matches have taken place. Phil Hellmuth defeated Antonio Esfandiari three consecutive times, winning  $350,000. The 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth then defeated Daniel Negreanu in three consecutive matches and set a benchmark with his run 9-2 overall on the show. Further on High Stakes Duel 4 last year, Negreanu defeated Eric Persson in a one-off match. The high stakes heads-up match returned on Tuesday and saw two high profile players battle it out, making it a more thrilling experience.

High Stakes Duel 5 Result

The High Stakes Duel taking place on Tuesday was the fifth edition and it saw Patrik Antonius and Jared Bleznick pitting against each other. Patrik Antonius, a recent WSOP Hall of Famer, has been playing poker for over 20 years, and has over $29 million in live earnings. Just recently, he made headlines for winning the Triton Poker SHR Series $200k Triton Invitational, where he took home his career-high score of $5,130,000.

On the other hand, Jared Bleznick is the owner of a sports card shop in Las Vegas, who has been playing tournament poker since 2006. He has more than $7 million live earnings. Last year he won the $100K PLO Super High Roller Bowl event for $1.3 million. This summer, he took down the $50K high roller this summer at the World Series of Poker, taking home more than $2 million.

Both players put in $50,000 and played at blinds of $100/$200 in the latest high-stakes duel. Following back-and-forth battles of over 4 four hours, Jared Bleznick eventually emerged as the winner. The game ended  in NLH format. On the last hand, Bleznick opened to $2,500 with Qs 8s and Antonius called with Qh Ks. The flop came with 6c 8c Qd, giving Bleznick the lead. Facing a bet, Antonius check-raised to $6,500 and then moved all-in for $39,900. Bleznick snap-called and hit full house on the turn 8s. The river As changed nothing and just like that Bleznick won the match.

However, Antonius immediately challenged his opponent to a rematch, which is scheduled to take place on November 19, but for the next match players will have to deposit $100,000 each. PokerGo has uploaded the latest episode of High Stakes Poker, where we see a thrilling High-stakes battle that nearly touches $800k. This time, we see a billionaire vs. billionaire face-off. Sameh Elamawy goes up against Stanley Tang in a pot worth nearly $800k. Here is a short recap of the highlighted hand.

The blinds were $200/$400, with a $400 big blind ante and a straddle to $4,000. Tang raised $25,000 with 10h-10d, and $355k in front of him. Elamawy called the raise with 8h-8d. Elamawy, who had Tang covered with a $842,000 stack, called. The action then came to Brandon Steven, who held Jd-3d, but he folded.

The flop came down 10s-9c-7s, and Tang, who flopped a set, bet another $35,000 into the pot. Elamawy didn’t hold back, having a straight draw. He raised it to $175,000. Tang quickly moved all in, and Elamawy called the all-in. Both players agreed to run it twice for the whopping $765,500 pot.

The turn came 2s, and 3s fell on the river. This didn’t improve anything for Elamawy, but Tang confirmed half of the pot. Disappointed, Elamawy said, “Uh, the first one is for you.” In the second runout, Jc fell on the turn, giving a straight to Elamawy.

Unfotunately for Elamawy, the 9d on the river turned the tables, giving Tang a full house. Tang scooped the massive $765,500 to jump up the ladder.

You can watch the full episode on the PokerGO’s website, but below you can watch the highlighted hand.

Stanley Tang is a Hong Kong American billionaire tech entrepreneur with over a billion net worth. Tang is the co-founder and chief product officer of the popular food delivery service, DoorDash. Sameh Elamawy is the CEO of Scratch Services loan servicing. Elamawy has also scooped over $1 million by cracking the pocket kings of Andrew Robl twice.

The 2024 Poker Masters presented by PokerStars NAPT is now in its final stage, with seven of the eight events on its schedule reaching their conclusion. Brock Wilson was the latest winner crowned at the series. The New York native overcame a star-studded field of 76 entrants in Event #7: $15,100 No-Limit Hold’em, taking home  the trophy and $330,60. It was a wire-to-wire win for Wilson who eventually bested Michael “Texas Mike” Moncek in heads-up. The latter walked away with $216,600 for his remarkable runner-up finish in the tournament.

This was Wilson’s second overall PGT trophy and third title of 2024. This second cash of the series pushes his career tournament earnings to more than $9,000,000, according to The Hendon Mob.

2024 Poker Masters Event #7: $15,100 No Limit Holdem Recap

Wilson came into this event with impressive resume featuring PGT, WPT, and WSOP Circuit wins for him. He kicked off the day with a massive chip lead with nearly two-and-a-half times more than his closest rival, Seth Davies. After eliminating Davies early on, Wilson’s dominance grew as he held 70% of the chips in play. From there on, he did not look back and went on to bust everyone but David Stamm.

The 2024 Poker Masters Event #7: $15,100 No-Limit Hold’em ran over the course of two days and drew a 76-entrant field for a prize pool of $1,140,000. The top 11 players made the money, including Alex Foxen (11th – $34,200, Victoria Livschitz (10th – $34,200), Justin Saliba (9th – $34,200), Nicholas Seward (8th – $45,600), Clemen Deng (7th – $45,600, and Kristen Foxen (6th – $57,000).

Davies was first to exit the streamed final table after he four-bet shoved Ah 3h from the button over Wilson’s  three-bet and ran into Wilson’s pocket jacks to exit in fifth place for $79,800.

The next player to fall was David Stamm who shoved with Kc 7s and was called by Moncek with As 3s. Stamm found no help and Moncek revealed an ace, busting his opponent in fourth place ($108,300).

Three-handed play saw Moncek and John Riordan battling back-and-forth for second chip position. In one of the hands, Riordan dramatically doubled through chip leader Wilson with a straight with Ks Qc on the A-10-6-9-J board. However, he later became the short stack after losing a hand to Moncek. Shortly after that, Riordan was eliminated when he called all in from the big blind with 6d 6c against a shove from Wilson with 10c 8h. Wilson took the lead on the A-10-3 all-hearts board and remained ahead till the river, busting Riordan in third place.  Riordan took home $153,900 for his podium finish.

After eliminating Riordan, Wilson held a more than a six-to-one chip lead into heads-up against Michael Moncek and finished off his opponent quickly . On the final hand, Wilson moved all-in from the button with Kd 6d and Moncek made the call with Qc 4c. Wilson flopped a six and Moncek did not catch up from there to be eliminated in second place on a board of A-10-6-3Ac. This was Moncek’s second runner-up finish of the series and this time he earned $216k.

The PGT 2024 Super High Roller Series continued its run at the luxurious Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Spa in Cyprus with the second event, a $25,750 No-Limit Hold’em (7-Max), crowning a winner in Quan Zhou. The Chinese pro topped a field of 39 entries and bested England’s Lewis Spencer in heads-up, claiming his first-ever PGT title and a hefty $316,000 first-place prize. This marked his third title of 2024 and took his live tournament earnings to more than $9,535,000. This was the eighth-largest career score for Zhou, with his best score coming in the 2023 Triton Monte Carlo $125K Main Event for his 5th place for $1,165,000. After the victory, he climbed to 4th place in China’s All-Time money list.

Seven players returned to the seven-handed final table of Event #2: $25,750 7-Max, but only six spots got paid out. Ben Heath led the final seven with 74 big blinds, far ahead of Quan Zhou. The action was a little slow and took nearly two hours for the first elimination coming in Aram Zobian, who started the final table as the shortest stack and fell to Felipe Ketzer, exiting the tournament empty handed.

Once the bubble burst, Lin emerged as the new chip leader and grew his advantage when Jeremy Ausmus shoved the ace-queen from the button and Lin called with pocket tens. The board ran out in favor of Lin, eliminating Ausmus in sixth place and giving Lin a massive chip lead. The next player to fall was Ketzer. The lone Brazilian pitted three-deuce against the king-eight of Zhou to exit in fifth place. Zhou continued his momentum and busted Benjamin Heath from the United Kingdom. Heath went all-in with queen-jack against Zhou’s ace-three. Zhou flopped two pairs to bust his opponent.

Zhou continued his dominance, busting Lin in third place. Ren Lin’s king-jack could not overcome Zhou’s ace-king. Zhou flopped top pair. The turn and river blanked out, ending Lin’s run in the event.

The heads-up lasted only two hands. On the final hand, Spencer shoved all-in holding pocket sixes against Zhou’s ace-deuce suited. The board brought an ace but no six for Spencer, ending his run in second place. Zhou collected the $316,000 first-place prize and the coveted PGT Gold Cup.

The third event of the 2024 Super High Roller Series was the $25,750 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, which drew in 41 total entries, resulting in a prize pool of $1,004,500. Following two days of high-stakes action, Tunisia’s Maher Nouira emerged victorious to claim the top prize of $333,000 and his first PGT title. He eventually defeated the four-time WSOP bracelet winner Adrian Mateos. The  Spanish superstar walked away with $231,000 for his runner-up finish in the tournament.

This win marks Nouira’s third-largest career score, with the biggest being a fourth-place finish in the 2024 Triton Montenegro $100K No-Limit Hold’em for $933,000. Nouira now has more than $3.5 million in live tournament earnings and is ranked first in Tunisia’s All-Time Money List.

The Spanish pro began heads-up with 1,135,000 to Nouira’s 7,070,000. He managed to close the gap, quickly doubling up with ace-king against seven-eight. After a back-and-forth battle, Mateos eventually lost after attempting a bluff against a straight to finish runner-up.Mateos pitted his 10s 4s against the 10c 9d of Nouira.  Japan’s Masashi Oya Wins 2024 Super High Roller Series Event #4

The most recent victory at the 2024 Super High Roller Series came from Japan’s Masashi Oya, who topped a field of 30 entries and defeated Jeremy Ausmus in heads-up in Event #4: $51,500 No-Limit Hold’em (7-Max) to claim his second PGT title and massive $535,000. This was third-largest career score, surpassing his runner-up finish in the 2022 U.S. Poker Open $50k Main Event for $504,000. This was Oya’s second live title of 2024. His live career earnings now exceed $8.5 million and he is currently ranked first on Japan’s All-Time Money List.

The seven players returned for the final table but only five of them got paid out from the $1,470,000 prize pool. The first player to finish in the money was Canada’s Sorel Mizzi who shoved with queen-ten against Oya’s queen-jack. With no help from the board, Mizzi exited in fifth-place. He was followed by Austria’s Matthias Eibinger who shoved with queen-jack-suited against the king-queen-suited of Oya to exit in fourth place.

After the elimination of Spain’s Adrian Mateos in third, it came down to heads-up battle. Oya began with more than a 4:1 chip lead against Ausmus. Despite the odds, Ausmus quickly doubled with his ace-king against the ten-eight of Oya. Ausmus won a few more key pots and was able to move into the lead but lost his lead very soon.

The final hand saw Ausmus making a stand with pocket kings. Oya flopped two pairs with ace-six. After a series of bets on the flop A-8-6 and the turn 5, Ausmus shoved all-in and Oya called. The river was a blank, and Oya secured his second PGT title and a hefty $535,000 payday.

The post Phil Hellmuth admits, “I’m 100% guilty,” for slamming mic on the table first appeared on Global Poker News Daily: PokerProNews.com.

Phill Hellmuth, aka the ‘Poker Brat,’ it’s not a secret that he is one of the short-tempered poker players at the table. Hellmuth has fully displayed his poker brat persona in his legendary poker career. With this persona, the 17-time WSOP bracelet winner has given some of the iconic moments in televised poker, which have now become cult classics among the community.

However, he admits that his behavior in the latest episode of ‘No Gamble No Future,’ where he slammed his mic pack on the table, cursed player Humboldt Mike, was completely out of line, and apologized for his outburst.

What was the reason behind Hellmuth slamming his mic?

Let’s take a look at the main reason behind the battle. The poker brat moved all in with his A-Q hand against Humboldt Mike’s pocket jacks. Hellmuth was ahead on the ace-seven-nine flop, but Mike secured a set with the J on the river, surpassing Hellmuth’s aces and eventually winning the hand. Check out what happened in this hand HERE!

After the hand, Hellmuth displayed sportsmanship saying, “Nice hand.” But then Mike said something that crossed the line for Hellmuth. He took a dig at the 17-time bracelet winner by making fun of his collaboration with Bitcoin Latinum.

After Mike won the hand, he said, “Phill, I have got an address if you need to send some [Bitcoin].”

Way before this hand, Mike constantly was poking fun at Hellmuth’s affiliation with Bitcoin Latinum and Ultimate Bet. In 2022, one user sued Hellmuth as the company defrauded them of $15 million.

That was the final nail in the coffin, as Hellmuth outburst and started scolding Mike, and then he stood up from his seat, took his mic off, and slammed it onto the table.

In an interview with PokerOrg, the Hall of Famer revealed that he was mad at Humboldt Mike because he started attacking his affiliation with Bitcoin companies like Bitcoin Latinum and Ultimate Bet.

“I represent more than 50 companies and have invested in 40. And not everything ends up perfect, right?” “He’s some random guy I’ve never met, and he was attacking me,” he further added.

They recorded this episode before the 2024 World Series of Poker, and Hellmuth kind of knew how the audience would react to this clip when they released it. “It crossed the line. I’m 100% guilty. It won’t happen again.”

Getting Support from PokerGo

Hellmuth revealed he immediately called PokerGo’s President, Mori Eskandani, asking him to delete the clip. Mori replied that anybody who watches will know that the guy attacked you continuously. You had asked Humboldt Mike to stop, but he didn’t.

Hellmuth recalls discussing the idea of apologizing to Mike with PokerGo staff, who strongly opposed it because of Mike’s provocation. Eventually, Hellmuth apologized for his part and they shook hands to film together.

Indian players are shining brightly on the international poker scene. After Natural8 India ambassador and WSOP bracelet winner Nikita Luther featuring on the ‘Game of Gold’ reality show, putting India on the global poker map is the high-stakes pro Santhosh Suvarna. The Dubai-based casino operator has secured a coveted seat at the table in PokerGo’s Season 12 of High Stakes Poker, becoming the first Indian to achieve this feat. Recently nominated for 2023 GPI Breakout Player award, Suvarna’s presence will add a new dimension to the upcoming Season, which will be premiered on February 19, just five days ahead of the highly-anticipated 5th Global Poker Award Ceremony, which is scheduled for February 24, 2024.

Suvarna, a successful businessman with a love for high stakes poker, is a formidable competitor in the international poker circuit. With $6,658,584 in live earnings, he is currently ranks 2nd on India all time money list. While his first four results came from tournaments hosted in India, he burst into the global poker scene in September 2022 when he finished 8th in a $75,000 buy-in Triton Poker SHRS event in Cyprus, earning a hefty $245,000 for his efforts.

2023 was a breakout year for him and all top five live scores of the year by an Indian belonged to him only. He won several big tournaments and cashed many others. He became the first Indian to clinch a Triton SHRS title and a WSOP Europe bracelet. The year also saw him rake in a record $1.86 Million pot in a cash game pot on a live stream. His biggest live tournament score of 2023 came in October when he finished third in a $125,000 buy-in Triton SHRS event in Monte-Carlo, securing $1,772,000 – his best score to date. For his epic showing in 2023, he was recently nominated for 2023 GPI Breakout Player award, a significant milestone that not only highlights his success but also solidifies India’s position on the global poker map.

The Season 12 of High Stakes Poker, the most iconic poker cash game show, will be jam-packed with a thrilling mix of poker’s heavyweights and some exciting new faces. It will see players battle it out at stakes of $200-$400 to $1,000-$2,000 from inside the luxurious PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. While Andrew Robl, Brandon Adams, Jennifer Tilly, Nik Airball, Chino Rheem, Jean-Robert Bellande, and Phil Laak (who will be returning to High Stakes Poker for the first time since Season 7) ensure explosive action, Suvarna’s presence holds a special significance for India’s rapidly growing competitive community in international arena.

The upcoming season features a total of 12 episodes on the schedule. Episodes will air on Mondays exclusively on PokerGO, starting with the premiere on February 19 and concluding on May 13. Suvarna will appear in all 12 episodes and hence his fans can watch him all through the season battle it out with the world’s heavyweights, starting with a lineup that features Robl, Bellande, and Tilly.
