The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris is currently underway at the stunning Le Palais des Congress. The prestigious event has already crowned several champions, including Canadia’s Daniel Dvoress, who shipped the €25,000 NL Hold’em II after outlasting a field of 62 contenders to secure a hefty €444,840. Sweden’s Niklas Astedt placed runner-up, pocketing €291,600 for his efforts.

Dvoress is a formidable competitor and is currently ranked fourth on Canada’s all-time money list. The win marked his first major live poker of 2024 and second cash of the ongoing series, following his  seventh-place finish worth € 63,000 in the € 25,000 No Limit Hold’em I.  The victory took his live earnings to $28,948,937,  solidifying his position as one of the biggest crushers of his country.

The €25,000 NL Hold’em II generated a massive €1,458,240 prize pool, which was finally shared by  the top eight finishers with a min-cash worth €58,300. Also competing in this event was India’s super high roller Santhosh Suvarna who narrowly missed out on the payout, finishing in ninth place.

Stephen Chidwick Wins His First EPT Title of 2024 in €25,000 NL Hold’em I (€389,820)

Among other winners, prominent poker pro Stephen Chidwick claimed his first EPT title of 2024 by winning the €25,000 NL Hold’em I. He defeated Spain’s Adrian Mateos in the heads-up battle, claiming €389,820 in top prize money. Mateos pocketed €257,900 for his second-place finish.

Chidwick, who had won two titles at the EPT Paris in 2023, is currently ranked first on England’s all-time money list. With the latest win, took his live tournament earnings to a staggering $55,417,340.

The event drew in a total of 51 challengers to Le Palais des Congrès, building a prize pool of €1,199,520, which was eventually shared among the top seven finishers. They battled for about 14 hours. In the end, it was Stephen Chidwick who stole the show and emerged the ultimate champion.

The first casualty on the final table was Daniel Dvoress who lost it with an inferior pocket pair and exited in seventh place. Eliminations continued with Sam Greenwood (sixth), Jesse Lonis (fifth) and Mike Watson (fourth) all falling in quick succession. Finally, it came to the heads-up battle after France’s all-time money list leader Jean-Noel Thorel exited in third place. He challenged Chidwick’s open raise with his king-three, which were outperformed by Chidwick’s ace-queen.

India’s Santhosh Suvarna participated in this event too but exited empty-handed in 22nd place.

Duco ten Haven Wins €10,200 Mystery Bounty For Career-Best €244,000

Duco ten Haven etched his as the EPT champion by winning the €10,200 Mystery Bounty. He overcame a field of 78 players to claim his first EPT title and a hefty €126,500 in prize money. In addition, he earned him an impressive €117,500 in bounties, including the coveted €50,000 top bounty, bringing his total winnings from the tournament to a staggering €244,000. China’s Quan Zhou finished runner-up, securing €81,500 in prize money and an additional €72,500 in bounty prizes.

Ewen Trevidy overcame 175 players to claim his maiden EPT title in the €1,100 Pot Limit Omaha. He secured the €40,100 top prize, while Daniel Tordjman finished runner-up for  €25,100 for his efforts.

In the €1,100 No Limit Hold’em, Brazil’s João Oliveira emerged victorious from a field of 286 challengers. He bested Italy’s Candido Cappiello heads-up to win the €55,820 top prize. Cappiello secured a cool €35,200 for his second-place finish. Notably, 2023 GPI POY (India) Ankit Ahuja also participated in the event and  notched up a commendable fourth-place finish, claiming €19,400.
