BetRivers, a social online sweepstakes casino, recently entered the regulated poker market of the United States with the launch of its BetRivers Poker in Pennsylvania, and who could have been better to promote the platform than the ‘Poker Brat’?

Rush Street Interactive (RSI), the parent company of BetRivers, strategically partnered with Hellmuth and announced this landmark collaboration on Monday via a press release. The same was also shared by BetRivers via their ‘X’ handle. 

In this role, Hellmuth will enhance player experiences through interactive entertainment and useful insights across Rush Street Interactive’s casino, sports book, and poker platforms. He will also contribute to RSI’s media productions, including the BetRivers Network and the popular “Poker Night in America” poker show.

Rush Street Interactive (RSI) is BetRivers’ parent company. The newly-launched poker site ‘BetRivers Poker’ recently joined the U.S regulated market as a partnership between Phil Galfond and Rush Street Interactive. It is said to be a rebranded version of Galfond’s Run It Once Poker platform, which was bought by RSI in March 2022 for a hefty $5.8 million. BetRivers Poker went live just last year in November and has now the backing of two powerful figures in the poker industry: Phil Galfond and Phil Hellmuth.

The highly talented poker pro has $29.5 million in live career earnings and ranks 1st on Hong Kong’s all-time money list. Tang has been competing in the Triton Poker High Rollers since 2019. He has cashed in 40 events, earning almost $18.6 million, and five Triton titles under his belt. Tang began his career by playing low-stakes and mid-stakes poker tournaments, but he slowly and steadily moved to high stakes to become one of the emerging high-stakes stars.

Earlier this month, Triton awarded Danny Tang the Ivan Lwoe Player of the Year Award for his terrific performance in Season 3 of the Triton Poker series. Tang in that season cashed 19 Triton events, 13 of them were final table finishes, and scored two Triton titles. He outlasted the ten-time Triton title holder and his fellow Triton team pro Jason Koon by just 352 points to take the Ivan Leow Award.

Sharing his happiness, Tang said, “Words can not describe how honoured I am to be representing this spectacular brand.” Tang revealed this was like him signing for the football team Real Madrid, “As a long-time football fan, this is like signing for Real Madrid. The best of the best.”

The five-time triton title victory is just the tip of the iceberg of what Tang has achieved. He also holds one World Series of Poker gold bracelet for his victory in the 2019 $50,000 WSOP NLHE High Roller for a staggering $1.6 million. Dwan started playing poker about 20 years ago and ascended to prominence in the late 2000s due to his aggressive playing style and high-stakes cash game performances. Thanks to his appearances on popular poker TV shows like High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark, he became a household name.

 He engaged in several online challenges, with the “durrrr” Challenge against Dan “Jungleman” Cates being the most notable one. In 2009, he made waves by winning the biggest televised cash game pot against Phil Ivey in Full Tilt Poker’s Million Dollar Cash game for $1.1 million. In May 2023, he broke his own record by shipping a $3.1 million pot against Wesley Fei in Hustler Casino Live’s Million Dollar Game.

As of 2024, the “durrrr” Challenge remains unfinished, with Dwan having paid huge penalties, ranging between $700k and $800k for not adhering to the agreed-upon terms.  Despite being down $1,251,059 after 19,335 hands out of the planned 50,000, the challenge remains as one of the most iconic games in poker history.

Dwan will be joining other elite ACR Pros like 2003 WSOP Main Event Champion Chris Moneymaker, Chris Moorman, and Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero as the representative of the 23-year old poker platform.
